My name is Simon Holywell and I live in Brighton, England (brighton.uk:80) with my beautiful fiancée Marion. I am a web developer for a company called WickedWeb in the quiet Kent town of Edenbridge.
I have a LinkedIn profile if you would like to get an idea of my resume: http://www.linkedin.com/in/simonholywell
Until recently I lived in Melbourne, Australia working for a company in St.Kilda called Go4 Multimedia. Recently I became a Zend Certified PHP Engineer, which has helped to consolidate and quantify my knowledge of that language.
In the recent past I was a student at Monash University in Berwick where I studied the Bachelor of Multimedia Systems and completed quite a bit of freelance web development. I have a keen interest in technology, vehicles with motors, mountain biking (if only there were mountains around here!) and snow & skate boarding. I currently ride a push bike to work everyday as it is quicker, easier and healthier not to mention more environmentally friendly than driving there. My bike is a Specialized Big Hit, which is great for dirt jumps and freeriding, but not so great as a commuter although popping off of curbs is good fun. I sold my car when I moved closer to work because I do not need it with the bike and public transport. To fill in some time and do something I have always wanted to do I recently bought a motorcycle, which I use for some transport, but mostly for kicks and riding with mates.

The dog you may have noticed floating about the website goes by the name of Weebo, which comes from the combination of a couple of words. Wee – meaning small and Bo – a contracted word for boy. He is a Staffy cross who was found wandering about Lutana near Hobart, Australia and taken to the pound where I rescued him. As you can see from the photo he is a wee bit cheeky as well! Unfortunately I cannot have him with me at the new flat so he is staying with family.

I am using the WordPress blog/CMS for this website because it has a light foot print and more than enough features. The lovely icons used on this site are graciously made available for use by Mark James over at FAMFAMFAM.
The theme for the website is built upon heavily modified Sandbox and Oriole.
