The Logo 21/10/2003 Here is a low resolution JPG of the logo I created for the project:
Wow This IS Fine! 21/10/2003 The model finally arrived today and it looks good. Ian began to put it into his footage this afternoon which means that we might actually have it done in time! Luckily my group mates have finnished most of their other assignments so I don't have to worry too much about them running out of time. I have finally finnished the damn Java assignment as well which is very helpful as it is due quite soon. I also finally bit the bullet and changed the Flash animation so that it would look atleast passable. I really did quite a poor job of it but I built a new background image using a brushed metal texture to keep in with the logo. I hope it looks ok on the day as it took quite some work, but as I say I did not perfect it because I ran out of time. I would have probably needed about a day to get it looking really good, but I only had 2 hours. Most of which I spent helping the others out with bits and peices. I am glad the 3D model has arrived because it means that I can get one with the posters. Well after I have done Developing Multimedia Systems that is. Oh well it will come together on the day. It bloody better! Kill Bill 17/10/2003 I quite enjoyed Kill Bill but it definately is not a 5 star movie or a 4 1/2 star movie for that matter. The action scenes were fun but could have been a little better. I can't put my finger on what exactly was wrong with it but there was something just missing. I knew the trailers were sending me a message! It is well worth a watch though. Obviously we are still waiting for Taratino to out do Pulp Fiction. "The baby is yours". I have also recently seen MatchStick Men which was a good movie even though I knew what I was going to happen about half way through the damn thing. I gather from my friends experiences that this was not a common occurence so I can't write the movie off for it, but it is worth mentioning. Nicholas Cage actually tried his hand at acting in this film which made it better than the rest. All in all it was an enjoyable film. But the film that left me feeling good after watching it was Pirates of the Carribean. I don't know as there were so many obvious flaws and irritations, but I really liked this film. Johnny Depp stole the show as Captain Sparrow though and the other characters paled in comparison. i would say he was too strong as I could not be bothered getting into the stories of the other characters. Are We Cutting This Fine? 17/10/2003 The model has suffered yet more set backs. Meagan's 3D tutor was approached for help only to majorly screw us over. The model was presented to her in a condition ready for textures. She proceeded to flatten the stack and the image became uneditable. Fine, but she bloody saved it. Even better is the fact that Meagan had forgotten to make a good back up of her model. She has started the model again. Not fun. I have finnished my logo for the car and promotional material. I spent about 3 hours mucking around with textures which was some what irritating given that it did not turn out to my liking in the end anyway. But unfortunately I ran out of time to play around with it any longer. At the resolution and quality it will be in the video I guess it doesn't matter too much anyway. I have been thinking of how I can improve upon Lisa's Flash presentation. But I have not come up with a decent plan yet and I really do not have the time. I have a large Java assignment on my plate at the moment, which is giving me the shits. Ian's video is ready for the 3D model to be incorporated but as previously mentioned it is not ready. I also need the model so I can make a couple of posters/billboards. I have also written up some more talk type stuff and hopefully the others think it sounds ok, if not excellent. Have I said I hate working in groups on this blog yet? Well if I haven't now I have. I am looking forward to seeing Kill Bill to relieve some tention tonight. According to reviews it should be about one of the best movies I have ever seen, but what the hell would they know. I hope it is good but from the trailer I have a sneaking suspicion it could be better. Getting Somewhere 7/10/2003 Well we are getting somewhere with this project now. Ian has filmed some more scenary, with Lisa's help and it is looking quite good. He has also been going through his families photo albumn hunting for photos. I would have done also but I don't have them at this house so that caused me a bit of grief. Besides I don't think I have many photos of roads! Not that interesting to tell the truth. :) I have begun the production of the logo in 3D Studio Max as I thought I would, but it is much harder than I was expecting. It is taking quite a lot of time to get it looking right and I haven't even begun with textures and lighting. Although the texturing should not be too bad because I know what I want it to look like. I am hoping to make a nice brushed metal look, as that texture is easy enough to make in Photoshop. I use the Add Noise filter and then Motion Blur it to create the effect. The Flash presentation does not seem to be moving at all and I think I might have to step in and fix it up myself. Which is not a good idea as I have too much other work to do and I am not a good designer at all. Boy oh boy am I sick of this semester already, I want it to end pronto. It has been far more boring than last semester. Entries in database: 34 |
